Welcome all!
I am Nathalie Ortega, a professional freelance illustrator with years of experience in creating art for children books. My goal is always to bring ideas to life in a clear, explanatory and fun way. I also design characters and storyboards for animation productions.
The commissions I receive cover a wide variety of subjects from language learning to graded readings –I am specialized in editorial illustration. I love doing that! I feel very proud to contribute through my illustrations to make classroom exercises and readings more enjoyable, understandable and attractive. I still remember texts from when I was I child, because of the illustration that accompanied them and that impacted me in some way. Providing a graphic render for the beginning of a unit in a language book, drawing the steps which explain how to do a physics experiment or a craft is a rewarding job for me, because I always try to make the drawings clear explanatory and fun. I believe I have achieved this goal throughout these years and, above all, I hope I can continue contributing to liven up learning through these books by boosting them with my art.
The release of this new website was pending for much too long, and I am finally able to present it to you! I’ll upload more artwork and sections soon, so please stay tuned! By now, you may see a selection of the work I’ve been doing over the last years. Also, you’ll find links to my social networks (Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn) and, since it seems I can’t stand being idle –I have various interests apart from illustration– you’ll also find a section with little things I do like polymer clay figurines, costume jewelry, dolls and dollhouses.
Take a look at my portfolio to see examples of my work and get a sense of my style. If you like what you see, please don’t hesitate to get in touch! I am open to new projects and look forward to hearing from you. You may write to my email or contact me via my social media accounts –I will be happy to answer!
I hope you like my work.
Thank you!
